Termoesmeraldas calls off Shushufindi feasibility tender - Ecuador

(BNamericas.com) - Ecuadorian state generator Termoesmeraldas has declared void the bidding process to carry out feasibility studies for the 132MW Shushufindi thermo project.
The process was called off after no offers were submitted, according to a statement from state power generation holding company Celec.
Celec said it plans to launch a new tender for the three month contract, which entails validating or correcting prefeasibility studies along with topographical and geophysical work.
The plant would use reduced crude from the Amazonas refinery operated by state oil company Petroecuador's refining subsidiary Petroindustrial.
Output would help cover demand in Francisco de Orellana and Sucumbíos provinces as well as oil sector demand....
