Description

National Authority on Public Services (ASEP) is Panama's public services regulator and is responsible for regulating and monitoring the provision of drinking water, sewerage, electric power, telecoms, and radio and television services, as well as natural gas transmission and distribution. Its mission is to ensure the efficient provision of public services, as well as overseeing technical, commercial, and environmental quality standards nationalwide. ASEP is also responsible for granting licenses for the development of projects and fixing electric power rates, among other tasks. The agency is based in Panama City.
