Santander Brasil, the Brazilian unit of Spain's Santander, is the country's third largest non government-owned bank and the largest bank controlled by a major global financial group. The full-service bank operates in three segments: commercial banking; wholesale banking; and asset management and insurance. Through its commercial banking segment, Santander Brasil offers traditional banking services, including checking and savings accounts, home and auto financing, consumer financing, credit cards and payroll loans to mid and high-income individuals and corporations. Its wholesale banking division provides structured financial services and solutions to local and multinational conglomerates, offering such products as transaction banking, corporate finance, equity and treasury. Through its asset management and insurance segment, the bank manages fixed income, money market, equity, and multi-market funds and offers insurance products to retail and small and medium-sized corporate customers. The bank's lending services include commercial, financial and industrial loan products, real estate construction loans, installment loans, and lease financing. It also engages in investment activities (including debt securities). Santander Brasil operates nationwide, but is concentrated in the country's southern and southeastern regions.
