Founded in 1929, Brazilian utility Caiuá Distribuição de Energia distributes electric power to 24 municipalities in São Paulo state, serving a population of more than 700,000 within its 9,149km2 concession area. Caiuá Distribuição is controlled by Brazilian power group Grupo Rede. Since April, 2014, brazilian electric power holding Energisa assumed control of Rede Energia's eight distributors that have been under Aneel's control since September 2012, including CFLO, Bragantina, Nacional, Vale do Paranapanema, Caiuá, Enersul, Cemat and Celtins.
