Centrais Elétricas de Carazinho S.A. (Eletrocar) is a Brazilian company founded in 1964 in Carazinho and controlled by the Municipal Prefecture of Carazinho (94.6%) with small interests held by other municipalities (Chapada, Selbach, and Colorado) which is engaged in the design, construction, and operation of power generation, transmission, and distribution infrastructure, and in the sale of electricity. Eletrocar holds a generation and a distribution concession ending in 2023 and 2045, respectively, which were allocated by the Brazil's national power agency ANEEL; it operates the small hydropower plants Mata Cobra, and Colorado, with a total installed capacity of 3,100 MW; and it distributes electricity to over 36,400 clients across 7 municipalities of the State of Rio Grande do Sul.
