Empresa Distribuidora La Plata S.A. (Edelap) is a private equity distributor of electrical energy serving more than 1 million inhabitants in a 5,700 km2 concession area covering six districts of Buenos Aires province: La Plata, Berisso, Ensenada, Brandsen, Magdalena and Punta Indio. It was founded in 1992 and its offices are in Buenos Aires. In 2011, the US corporation AES, owner at that time of Edelap sold the electric company to Power Infrastructure Group, lead by the Venezuelan businessman Miguel Mendoza and the Argentinian Alejandro Ivanissevich.
