Chilean distributor Empresa Eléctrica de Antofagasta (Elecda) is a subsidiary of local distribution company Emel Norte, which is part of the Chilean group CGE. It is engaged in the transmission and distribution of electricity to residential, commercial and industrial clients in Chile's Antofagasta region (II). Its concession area includes the cities of Antofagasta, Taltal, Sierra Gorda, Mejillones, Calama and Tocopilla, among others. The company's electric infrastructure comprises more than 1,100km of low voltage transmission lines and more than 700km of medium-voltage transmission lines, with an installed capacity of 505 (MVA). Elecda was founded in 1988 and is based in Antofagasta, Chile.
