Description

Empresa Eléctrica de Arica (Emelari) is a Chilean power distributor controlled by local utility Emel Norte, which is part of the CGE group. The company is engaged in the distribution, transmission and sale of power in northern Chile's Arica and Parinacota region (XV), mainly in the districts of Arica and Camarones, the Azapa and Lluta valleys, and in the town of Cuya, where it serves over 69,000 clients. Its electric infrastructure comprises more than 600km of low voltage lines and over 300km of medium voltage lines. Emelari was founded in 1988 and is based in Arica.
