Chilean company Enaex is a major supplier of explosives and raw materials for mining companies. Its production plants are located in Chile (Prillex America, Río Loa and Punta Teatinos); Argentina (Olavarría and Campanario); and Peru (Huachipa). Enaex's Prillex America is the largest ammonium nitrate plant in the region, with a production capacity of 850,000t/y. Enaex is focused on the production of raw materials and explosives used for rock fragmentation in open pit and underground mining blasting. The company provides blasting products, services and logistics, including priming, technical support and magazines administration. In 2012, Enaex acquired an interest in Brazilian explosives manufacturer Britanite, and in 2015 it bought a stake held by Peru's Exsa to gain full control of the firm. In 2014 it acquired a contract to supply ammonium nitrate to Minera Antamina, one of the world's largest mines, by purchasing Peru's Chemtrade. Finally, in 2015 it concluded the acquisition of a majority stake in French explosives systems producer Davey Bickford. Founded in 1920, the company is controlled by Chilean holding Sigdo Koppers.
