Brazilian distributor EDP Escelsa, a wholly-owned subsidiary of local power firm EDP - Energias do Brasil, provides electricity to 70 municipalities in Espírito Santo state. The company's concession, which expires in 2025, covers over 41,000km2 or 90% of the state, serving 3.3mn clients, including residential, rural, commercial and industrial consumers. EDP Escelsa owns 89 substations, with a total installed transformer capacity of 3,667MVA. Headquartered in Vitória, Espírito Santo state, the company was founded in 1968 and since 2002, belongs to EDP - Energias do Brasil.
