Chile's Santander Seguros de Vida, the life insurance unit of the country's largest bank Santander Chile, offers a wide range of insurance products, including auto, mandatory vehicle (SOAP), travel, life, and home insurance, as well as providing hospitalization coverage and insurance against check, credit and debit card fraud. In February 2011, Swiss company Zurich Financial Services acquired a majority stake (51%) in the insurance unit of Spanish banking giant Santander. Zurich will have management control of the company, while Santander's banks and brokers in the region will benefit from a 25-year distribution license. The insurer is headquartered in Santiago, Chile.
