Sociedad Concesionaria Autopista Central S.A. is a privately held company which holds the concession rights to build, operate and maintain the Autopista Central toll road, located in Santiago, Chile. The highway crosses the capital city in two stretches: the 39.6km North-South stretch, spanning from Maipo river's northern bank to the Américo Vespucio beltway in Quilicura, it runs through ten districts in Santiago, and includes 18 highway connections. The second stretch, the 20.9km General Velasquez avenue, stretches from Ruta 5 Sur to the connection with the Ruta 5 Norte road, crossing nine municipalities. The highway was part of Chile's first urban concession tender program, organized by the Ministry of Transportation, in 1995. Construction work began in 2001 and ended in 2006, and the concession period ends in 2031. Sociedad Concesionaria Autopista Central was incorporated in 2001 and is headquartered in Santiago. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Spanish conglomerate Abertis.
