Description:

Movistar Perú, which is 98% owned by Spain's Telefónica Móviles, is a provider of mobile telecommunications services. The company was formed in June 2005 from the merger of Telefónica Móviles Perú and Comunicaciones Móviles (formerly BellSouth Perú). Conditions of the merger require Movistar to return one of the two 25MHz licenses that it holds in the 800MHz band within two years and to expand coverage to 2,000 rural areas within three years.
