YPFB Transporte, a subsidiary of Bolivia's state hydrocarbons company YPFB, is engaged in the transportation of oil and gas in Bolivia, Brazil, Argentina, and Chile. The company transports natural gas, crude oil, and LPG. It owns and operates roughly 3,000km of gas pipeline and 2,800km of oil pipeline in seven of Bolivia's nine departments. Based in Santa Cruz, the company was founded in 1997 under the name Transredes. In 2008, Bolivia's government took control of Transredes as part of its strategy to nationalize hydrocarbons assets and renamed the firm as YPFB Transportes. The company completed the expansion of the Villamontes-Tarija gas pipeline in 2014, while in 2015 it was awarded a contract to develop a pipeline to supply dry gas to the Bulo Bulo ammonia and urea plant.
