Description

Ecuadorian power utility Empresa Eléctrica Quito (EEQ) is the country's largest power distribution company. It serves capital Quito and neighboring localities in Pichincha province as well as areas in the provinces of Napo, Imbabura and Cotopaxi. It is controlled by Fondo de Solidaridad and local authorities. EEQ was founded in 1955 and is based in Quito, Ecuador. The company manages the hydroelectric plants Cumbayá, Nayón, Guancapolo, Pasochoa and Los Chillos; and the 34.2MW Gualberto Hernández thermo plant. It has 35 distribution substations and a network of 409.1km of subtransmission lines
