Description

San Juan provincial power utility Energia Provincial del Estado (EPSE) was created in 2004 by the government of Argentine province San Juan. Its main focus is participate in the exploration and development of the existing energy resources in the region. Currently, it manages the Quebrada de Ullum hydroelectric plant and participates in energy projects in the region, such as Caracoles and Punta Negra. The company, Barrick Gold and Argentine firm Geotermia Andina recently completed feasibility studies on a 20MW geothermal project in the Despoblados area of the Valle del Cura valley.
