Description:
Venezuela's tourism ministry (Mintur) was created to facilitate the development of a tourist industry and promote tourism in the country. The government seeks to position Venezuela nationally and internationally as a tourist destination through mechanisms that contribute to the development of the country and promotes the welfare of the population. Its projects include the Macuto-Waraira cableway extension project, which contemplates the expansion of the cable car and construction of a thematic park in the zone of El Irón, one of the stations of the service, with the objective of transporting the large numbers of tourists visiting the Waraira Repano national park. The other station will be placed at Galipán where another park will be built.
