Japan's Sojitz Corporation is engaged in buying, selling, importing and exporting goods, as well as manufacturing products, providing services and coordinating projects in Japan and overseas. The group was formed from the merger of Nichimen Corporation and Nissho Iwai Corporation. Currently it has four business divisions: machinery, energy and metals, chemicals, and consumer lifestyle. Sojitz has seven domestic branches and 89 branches around the world, including Mexico, Venezuela, Brazil, Peru and Argentina. The company was incorporated in 2003 and is based in Tokyo.
