Spain's Telefonicais closer to selling its stake in Brazil's Rio Grande do Sul state fixed line operator CRT, controlled by RBS, to Portugal Telecom, according to market analysts.

Telecom Portugal would sell 23% of the 51.79% stake it holds in Sao Paulo operator Telesp in order to assume a controlling share of CRT.

Telefonica's stake in CRT Celular would remain unaltered.
