Americas Silver Corporation (Americas Silver) is a junior mining exploration, development, and production company, headquartered in Toronto. Its assets include four mines; two producing deposits, one under construction and the fourth in the exploration stage. These projects are located in two silver areas —the Cosalá Operations, in Sinaloa, Mexico, and the Galena Complex, in Idaho, US. The assets in Mexico are the Nuestra Señora silver-zinc-copper-lead mine, the San Rafael zinc-lead-silver project and the El Cajón silver-copper deposit, all located near Los Braceros processing plant. Cosalá comprises 21,000ha of mining concessions held by the company. The company has an option in the San Felipe development project in Sonora, Mexico, to acquire a 100% interest, subject to certain payments. Incorporated in 1998, the firm was originally founded under the name Scorpio Mining Corporation, and later renamed to its current name in 2015.
