Description

Colombia's central bank Banco de la República de Colombia is an institution created by Law No.25, 1923, that produces and manages the legal currency and serves as the banker's bank. It also controls the monetary, credit and currency exchange system of the country. Its main functions are: serve as the bank of the State, control the emission of currency, receive consignments and give loans to commercial banks and government; manage the country's monetary and financial policy and carry out currency transfers with other countries, among others.
