Company Detail


Minera Candelaria is the company responsible for the operation of the Candelaria mine in northern Chile's Atacama region (III). The mining complex comprises one open-pit and two underground mines, and facilities include a crushing plant, a concentrator, and Punta Padrones port. The copper, gold and iron oxide deposits were discovered in 1987 and production began in 1993. In 2014, Lundin Mining Corporation acquired US-based Freeport McMoRan Copper & Gold's controlling stake in Minera Candelaria.
