Albanesi S.A. is an Argentine company, part of the Albanesi group, focused on generating and selling electricity. The company manages most of the Albanesi group's electric power assets, which total 1000MW. Albanesi's power plants are all dual engine, capable of functioning on natural gas or diesel, except for one fired by fuel oil. Through various subsidiaries, the company owns seven thermal power plants in different Argentinean provinces, including the 250MW Modesto Maranzana power plant in Córdoba province; and the 120MW Independencia power plant in San Miguel de Tucumán. In 2016, the company was awarded a project for 395MW worth of electric power, including a cogeneration power plant in Santa Fe province and a thermal power station in Buenos Aires province. The company is also working on expanding its La Rioja, Maranzana, Independencia and General Roca power stations, which will bring Albanesi's installed capacity to a total of 1,500MW. The Albanesi group, founded in 1929, entered the power generation sector in 2004, when it acquired the Luis Piedra Buena S.A. thermal power plant in Bahía Blanca, Buenos Aires province.
