Enel Generación Chile S.A., formerly known as Endesa Chile, is the largest electricity generator and supplier in Chile, while also offering consulting and engineering services. The installed capacity of Enel Generación Chile, and its subsidiaries, is distributed in 111 facilities providing installed capacity of 6.351MW, 29% of domestic installed capacity, connected to the central interconnected grid (SIC) and to the northern grid (SING). Its energy generation sources are hydroelectric (54%), thermal (44%), and wind (2%). The company is controlled by Enel Chile, part of Italian multinational Enel, and headquartered in Santiago. Since 2014, Enel Generación has been developing its LNG business for the residencial, industrial and commercial sectors. As of 2017, the firm had several regasification plants located in the regions of Valparaíso, Maule, Coquimbo and one close to starting operations in Araucanía region.
