Description:
Bolivian state-owned firm Mi Teleférico operates an aerial cable car urban transit system launched in 2014 in administrative capital La Paz. Currently three lines are in operation and six more lines are in the planning stage. In 2015 the company kicked off work on two new cable car lines in La Paz, part of US$2.5bn planned investment in infrastructure projects. The US$450mn project, which involves a total of five new lines, 23 stations and 164 towers running across 20km linking La Paz with sister city El Alto, will be completed by 2020.
