Electricity of Peru Electroperú S.A. is a Peruvian state-owned electric generation and transmission company, controlled by Consolidated Pension Reserve Fund, with 85.71% of shares, and the National Fund for Financing of the State's Business Activity, with 14.29%. The company owns and operates Mantaro Hydroelectric Complex (1,008MW) in Huancavelica department, Malacas Thermal Power Plant (98MW) in Piura and Tumbes Production Center, which incorporates the New Tumbes Thermal Power Plant (18.7MW) . It also owns Zorritos and Zarumilla thermoelectric plants. In addition, it develops Represa Abascocha project (2MMm3), which will supply Mantaro complex and Huari river basin, in Junín. Electroperú was founded in 1972 and is headquartered in Lima.
