Description

Eletrobras Eletronuclear (Eletronuclear) is a mixed-ownership subsidiary of Brazilian state-run power group Eletrobras engaged in the construction and operation of nuclear power plants. Eletronuclear operates the Angra 1 and 2 stations, with a combined capacity of 1,990MW, and is currently building the 1,405MW Angra 3 plant, expected to be completed by 2022. The three projects are part of the Almirante Alvaro Alberto Nuclear Power Plant (CNAAA), which supplies about a third of the electricity used in Rio de Janeiro state and provides around 3% of the power used in the country. Eletrobras Eletronuclear is headquartered in Rio de Janeiro and it was established in 1997.
