Engie Brasil Energia S.A., formerly known as Tractebel Energia S.A., is a publicly held power generation company, headquartered in Florianópolis in Brazil's Santa Catarina state. The company is a public utility concessionaire and acts as an independent power producer, with installed capacity of over 7,000MW. Engie Brasil has nine hydroelectric power plants, eight thermo power plants (four coal, three biomass and one natural gas-fired), three mini hydro plants, seven wind parks and one photovoltaic solar farm. Engie Brasil is currently in the process of constructing five additional wind farms and one coal-fired power plant. Four of the wind farms will be located in Trairi, Ceará state: Estrela (29.7MW), Ouro Verde (29.7MW), Cacimbas (18.9MW) and Santa Mônica (18.9MW), while the 328MW Campo Largo wind farm will be built in Sento Sé and Umburanas, Bahia state. The 340MW coal-fired Pampa Sul plant will be located in Candiota, Rio Grande do Sul state.
