Fresnillo Plc, a subsidiary of Mexican firm Industrias Peñoles (75% ownership), is a precious metal mining company incorporated in the UK and headquartered in Mexico City. Fresnillo's activities include mining exploration, development, construction and operation. The miner is the world's largest primary silver producer and one of Mexico's largest gold producers. Fresnillo has seven operating mines, all of them in Mexico: Fresnillo, Saucito, Ciénega (including the San Ramón satellite mine), San Julián (phase I), Herradura, Soledad-Dipolos (currently suspended) and Noche Buena, the latter three through Minera Penmont, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fresnillo. The company also has three development projects (San Julián (phase II), Pyrites Plant and Second Dynamic Leaching Plant) and four advanced exploration prospects (Centauro Deep, Juanicipio, Orysivo and Las Casas Rosario). Fresnillo's concessions cover almost 2mn hectares.
