Grupo ICE is a Costa Rican self-contained public corporation, formed by the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (parent of the group) and the subsidiaries Compañía Nacional de Fuerza y Luz (CNFL), Radiográfica Costarricense S.A. (RASCA), and Cablevisión. The activities of the group include power and telecom sectors. The businesses on the electric sector include generation, transmission and distribution; while in telecom the group offers products and services such as fixed and basic telephony, mobile services, Internet and corporate services, among others. The parent company ICE, founded in 1949 by a state decree, is headquartered in San José de Costa Rica. Its operations are focused on the local market mainly, although it has presence in other Central American countries.
