Hydro Amazonas is a Peruvian firm engaged in the development of power generation projects. One of its flagships initiatives is the construction of the Amazonas hydroelectric plant, in districts Limabamba, Chirimoto and Milpuc, in Rodríguez de Mendoza province. The project will use water from the Shocol river. According to the environmental document filed with Peru's energy and mines ministry, construction would take 30 months and cost US$224mn. Works include a regulation reservoir with capacity of 199Mm3, a 5.06km water transport tunnel and a machine house for two Pelton type turbines.
