Alstom S.A. is a French transport corporation with global operations that develops and markets systems, equipment, and services for the railway sector in the segments of urban, suburban, regional and mainline passenger and freight transportation. The group operates 105 sites in more than 60 countries, and provides high-speed trains, metros, and tramways, infrastructure and signaling solutions, as well as upgrade, maintenance, and other related services for 200 customers worldwide. In Latin America, the company has presence in Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, Mexico, and Brazil. In the latter country, Alstom inaugurated the first Latin American tramway manufacturing line in 2015, located in Taubaté, São Paulo state, aimed at serving domestic and regional demand. Alstom was founded in 1928 and is headquartered in the city of Saint-Ouen, in the department of Seine-Saint-Denis.
