Peruvian national port company Empresa Nacional de Puertos (Enapu) was formed in 1970 to manage, operate, and develop the country's docks and terminals. The state-owned firm operates seven ports in Peru: Salaverry, Ilo, Iquitos, Yurimaguas, Puerto Maldonado, Huacho and Supe. It also operates the MASP Arica (Dock at the Service of Perú) in the port of Arica, Chile. When created, Enapu controlled 23 ports, but privatization processes have concessioned many of its largest terminals over the years as well as port transfer processes to regional governments. The firm is based in Callao.
