GS Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. (GS E&C) is an engineering and infrastructure firm specialized in the development of plants for the petrochemical, hydrocarbon, waste treatment, recycling, water and sewage industries. It also participates in the construction of educational, research and hospital facilities, as well as office buildings, luxury hotels, sports complexes, industrial facilities, clean rooms for the manufacture of pharmaceutical products, bridges, ports, airports, dams, resorts and golf courses. Founded in 1965 and based in Seoul, the company undertakes construction projects both in Korea and overseas. It has construction sites in several foreign countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Canada, China and Singapore. In Latin America, GS E&C has branch offices in Ecuador and Colombia, and a subsidiary in Panama that controls or hold stakes in construction companies in Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Spain, Portugal and the US.
