The international federation for private pension fund managers FIAP acts as a meeting place for exchanging experience between countries with pension systems that are based on capitalization of savings and privately administered by pension fund administrators, as well as providing information and support to improve their systems. It is focused on disseminating, promoting, defending, and otherwise facilitating the development of pension systems funded by based on mandatory retirement savings and individual capitalization, through pension funds managed by financial services companies. It groups together associations, chambers and other related institutions operating in countries with pension fund administrators or equivalent systems. Its duties include promoting the creation and development of private pension fund systems, providing technical assistance, hosting a website, and publishing leaflets, newsletters, magazines, books and audiovisual materials to keep members informed about association activities and international events. Its website includes sector-related news, information on seminars and training, statistics, and a virtual documentation center. FIAP consists of associations in 19 countries.
