Description

NuevaUnión SpA is an equally shared joint venture between the Canadian mining companies Teck Resources Ltd. y Goldcorp Inc., created in 2015 with head offices in Santiago de Chile, by the merger of their copper, gold, molybdenum mining projects Relincho and El Morro, located at distance of 40 km from each other, in the Province of Huasco, Region of Atacama, Chile. NuevaUnión reported approximate proved and probable reserves of 16,600 Mlb of copper, 8,900 Moz of gold, and 464 Mlb of molybdenum in 2014; and estimates a service life of 40 years with an annual production of 190,000 tons of copper and 315,000 ounces of gold.
