Description

The Superintendency of Residential Public Services (Superintendencia de Servicios Públicos Domiciliarios, Superservicios) is a Colombian decentralized state entity under the National Planning Department (Departamento Nacional de Planeación, DNP) created in 1991 which is aimed at regulating, monitoring, and inspecting public utilities, including water, sewage, wastes, power, and gas. Through 5 regional offices and 39 customer centers, Superservicios assures the uninterrupted provision and quality of those services, guarantees the freedom of competition in the sector, oversees compliance with guidelines and regulations, and organizes the systems of information, training and technical assistance. .
