Description

The Mines and Energy department of Paraguay's Ministry of Public Works and Communications is a government agency responsible for policymaking related to the use of mineral and energy resources. Established in 1993, the department is also tasked with assessing the technical, economic, financial and legal aspects for the promotion of the industrial use of the country's resources, as well as acting as the regulatory authority for the sector. The Mines and Energy department is split into primary energy resources, alternative energy, hydrocarbon, and mineral resources Directorates. The department head office is based in San Lorenzo, in Central Department.
