Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental (ABES), founded in 1966, is a non-governmental and non-profit Brazilian organization aimed at developing and improving tasks related to sanitary engineering and environmental sciences. Headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, ABES has 27 representation units along the country. ABES participates in sanitation and environmental state entities like CONAMA, CNRH, CONFEA, etc; and has agreements with international institutions such as PAHO, WHO, IBRD, WEF, IAWPRC, among others.
