Description

Superintendencia de Servicios Sanitarios (SISS) is an autonomous organization of the Chilean Government, controlled by the Public Works Ministry and created in 1990. Its main responsibilities are to set maximum rates of drinking water and sewerage, to control the tariffs, service and investment of the sanitary companies as well as the discharge of RILES from the sanitary concessions. Based in Santiago de Chile, it also participates in the Environmental Impact Assessment System.
