X-Elio Energy S.L. (X-Elio) is a Spanish company engaged in the development, construction, operation and maintenance of solar plants worldwide, and is currently present in 18 countries. In Latin America, X-Elio has a presence in Chile, Mexico, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras and Peru. The Madrid-based company was founded in 2005. By the end of 2015, the company had 278.35MW of installed power in place, with two power plants in Peru, Tacna Solar and Panamericana; one in Marcovia, Honduras and one in Puerto Rico. X-Elio is also engaged in the construction of the Uribe solar plant in Antofagasta, Chile. In 2016, the company changed its name from Gestamp Solar to X-Elio following the acquisition of an 80% stake by investment firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. L.P., through its subsidiary Aurora Energy Holding S.L.
