Yguazu Cementos

Company Detail

Description

Paraguayan cement manufacturer Yguazú Cementos is a privately held joint venture between Brazilian InterCement Brasil, which owns a 51% stake in the company, and local firm Concret-Mix, which holds the balance. The company was founded in 2000 with the aim of importing cement; however, due to a demand increase, the investing companies decided later to build a local cement manufacturing plant. The plant is located in Villa Hayes and has an installed capacity of 400,000t/y of cement. InterCement Brasil is part of the cement division of Brazilian holding group Camargo Corrêa, which has investments in industries such as textile, electric power, transport and engineering.
