Credit card volume up 28% in year through November

Credit card transactions in Peru rose 28% in the year through November to 13.7bn soles (US$5.1bn), banking association Asbanc said in a press release.

The number of credit cards issued by banks and finance companies reached 6.84mn at the end of November, increasing 3.7% from the same time last year.

According to Asbanc, credit cards were mostly used by consumers (77%), followed by SMEs (17.5%).
