Fitch has affirmed Panamanian bank Banco Aliado's long-term national scale rating at A(pan) with a stable outlook and its short-term national scale rating at F1(pan), according to a press release from the ratings agency.
Aliado's ratings are based on good asset quality, a consistent strategy and relatively low appetite for risk, and the bank's small market share in Panama's market.
An upgrade in the bank's rating could come from equity strength, while a decrease of this could lead to a downgrade, Fitch said.
Aliado's main focus is on the corporate banking segment.
