US-based private equity investment management firm Hamilton Lane has entered Brazil's asset management market, the company said in a press release.
Hamilton Lane has opened its first Brazilian office in Rio de Janeiro, the country's asset management hub.
The company has invested in Brazil's market for some time, but decided that a local presence was the best way to tap into the country's fast growing private equity business, executive director Mario Giannini said.
The executive added that Brazil is currently a "fundamental part" of the global private equity industry.
Hamilton Lane has more than US$17bn of assets under management, plus an additional US$93bn in advisory assets.
