Loan demand increases despite global volatility

Despite the current volatile global economic situation, which has prompted banks to take protective measures, demand for new loans - both corporate and personal - have continued to expand in Chile, according to a press release from central bank BCCH,based on the results of its third quarter bank loan survey.

The main reason behind the increase in the corporate sector is companies' need for more working capital and fixed assets.

In the personal loan segment - including mortgages and consumer loans - customers still view banks' loan offerings as attractive.
