Microfinance sector adds almost 420,000 clients in less than two years

Peru's microfinance institutions have signed up 419,532 new clients since 2010, state news agency Andina reported, based on figures from microfinance association Asomif Peru.

The financial system as a whole added 559,376 new clients during the same period, according to the report.

The microfinance sector expects to surpass half a million new customers by the end of this year with most of these in areas of the country with low penetration of financial services.
