Mortgage-focused BM Sua Casa ups lending 82% in 2010

Brazilian mortgage lender BM Sua Casa increased lending by 82% in 2010, the company said in a press release.

BM Sua Casa closed last year with a loan book of 320mn reais (US$200mn).

The strong loan growth was due to market demand, the launch of new products and services and the company's geographical expansion, said BM Sua Casa director Elyseu Mardegan Jr.

The lender focuses on the middle-class segment and operates in 61 cities in 15 states.

The company is the mortgage lending arm of Brazilian Finance & Real Estate (BFRE).
