Remittances to Colombia amounted to US$369mn in March, up 1.96% from the same month in 2010 and the highest monthly figure this year, according to the latest figures from central bank Banco de la República.
The March figure also marked three consecutive months of increased remittances in 2011. Money sent by Colombians living abroad increased by 11.9% when compared with February figures.
Overall for the first three months of 2011, remittances to Colombia amounted to US$999mn, up 10.9% from the same period in 2010, the central bank figures show.
