Remittances up 3.84% in November, highest 2010 monthly figure so far

Remittances to Colombia were US$368mn in November 2010, up 3.84% from the same month in 2009 and the highest monthly figure in 2010, according to the latest figures from central bank Banco de la Republica.

November figures also marked three consecutive months of increased remittances in 2010. Money sent by Colombians living abroad increased by 4.88% when compared with October figures.

In the first 11 months of 2010, remittances to Colombia amounted to US$3.6bn, down 3.33% from the same period in 2009.
